A Tenugui is a type of traditional Japanese towel made of cotton, plain woven.
Since tenugui have a smooth, thin and crisp unique texture, they can be used in various ways such as a dishcloth, headband, souvenir, decoration, covering, table runner, tapestry or items to wrap such as bottles.
Once you see and touch Tenugui, you will fall in love with its lovely pattern, warm and nostalgic texture of cotton!

Each Tenugui is dyed with some pattern by a skillful craftsman and it looks the same on both sides, which is great feature to use it as door curtain.
In japan, the door curtains are very popular not only to decorate rooms, but also to conceal living space such as kitchen, bathroom and laundry room from guests.
It's easy to install as a door curtain if you use a spring tension curtain rod.

They can be used as a tapestry or banner with our handmade bamboo hangers (5CAD).
You can attach them to the top and bottom of a tenugui simply by using tape or sewing for hanging.

Option1 Tenugui for hangers:
If you use a pair of the bamboo hangers to display tenugui, choose "Tenugui for hangers" has space for 1.5cm diameter runner/hangers on both sides.
*The length of tenugui will be about 9cm shorter than the original size.

Option2 Tenugui for runner:
If you use a runner or top hanger to display, choose " Tenugui for runner" which has space for 1.5cm diameter runner/hangers on top and no extra space on bottom end.
*The length of tenugui will be about 7cm shorter than the original size.

Option3 Edges-sewed Tenugui:
Please pick "Edge-sewed Tenugui" if you would like to have the ends stitched without extra space for hangers or runners.
*The length of tenugui will be about 3cm shorter than the original size.

＊Care＊
Hand-wash and dry in shade. Please use the laundry net on Machine-washing. Ironing is recommended. Tenugui is easy to dry and hard to shrink.
Don't bleach nor leave in water. Colors may fade.
Since both edges of the fabric are not stitched, they will become loose and frayed. But cut the excess string and the fraying will stop and become the fringe after use for a while.
